Try Sailing - 1.5hrs Sailing Taster Session

These 'Try Sailing' sessions do exactly what they say on the tin! Take to the water to see what sailing is all about.

Normally, one or two candidates go out in a large dinghy with one of our experienced instructors. Start off by just getting used to the sensation of being on the water, and the movement of the boat. The instructor will explain some of the basics to you, and you'll start to get an understanding of the wind, how to use the sails, and how to steer the boat.

We also occasionally run taster sessions where everyone has their own boat, which is better suited for larger groups. This is a bit more like jumping in at the deep end, having to get the hang of steering the boat pretty quickly - the instructor(s) will be supervising and giving you guidance.

By the end of the session, you should have a good idea whether you want to take it any further. The next step would be to join our RYA Level 1: Start Sailing course.
