In the water safety demonstration
Entry into the water weather permitting we will go into the water in the shallows so that you can get a feel of the temperature etc. You will be able to immerse in the water and stay within your depth, plus practice with the safety craft. Maximum time in the water will be 10 minutes. The normal swim session will be starting just as we finish the intro session (if things go according to plan)
Covid-19 restrictions mean that changing rooms are limited. 2 in the ladies at once and 3 in the men's. SHOWERS ARE STILL OUT OF USE AT THIS TIME
Please consider this when booking a session.
What you will/may need on the day:
A pen for the swim responsibility form, but if you are able to print, complete and bring this with you, that would really help us.
Warm clothing - layers. Waterproof/umbrella in case of rain as the intro course will be outdoors until Covid restrictions say we can open the clubhouse.
Normal swimsuit minimum but with a tow float, (we have tow floats to loan, first come first served).
Wetsuit if you prefer. No need for a tow float if wearing a wetsuit, (we have wetsuits to loan, first come first served).
Towel.
Swim socks / shoes if needed but not essential.
Swim gloves if needed but not essential.
Swim cap mandatory. (We have some to loan, first come first served). Bright colours are better for safety.
Flip flops/crocs or similar for the water's edge recommended but not essential.
Warm drink/flask HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
