PaddleBoard Yoga

Some frequently asked questions-

  • How to I book a place on the session?

Contact Sarah by sending an email to yoga_4_all@yahoo.com

Sarah will send payment details. Once you have paid your booking is complete.

  • Do I get my money back if I cancel or if the class gets canceled?

Yes if you give appropriate notice of your cancellation I can refund your money or offer you a different date.

If the class is cancelled due to bad weather the same applies.

  • What shall I wear?

Dress for the weather, if it's really sunny and walm, comfortable shorts and a tshirt , are fine, if you think you will be walm enough. Quick dry fabrics are best such as rash vest tops, running shorts, leggins, quick dry tops.

Short or summer wetsuits are also ideal if the weather is nice.

In cooler weather or if you get cold easily a wind stopper jacket is recommended or a full wetsuit.

If its really cold wetsuit gloves, socks or boots are ideal.

In hot weather sun protection is recommended, lotion, hat, sun protection clothing.

Glasses are at risk of falling into the water, so a sports glasses holder strap is recommended.

Personal Flotation Device/ buoyancy aids are not worn during the yoga class however they must be worn whilst paddling out to the yoga docking station due to the clubs rules.

  • What do I wear on my feet?

Water shoes, wetsuit boots or crocks are ideal for walking out into the water just in case there are any sharp stones. Footwear is a preference, I prefer bare foot doing yoga on a paddleboard.

  • Can I borrow a wetsuit and PFD/buoyancy aid from Scalingdam?

Yes we have a range of different sizes of wetsuits and PFD's that people can borrow from the club.

  • Do I need to have paddleboarding or yoga experience?

No, it does help however classes are suitable for paddleboard and yoga beginners.

  • What if I need to carry medication, anaphylactic shock treatment or an inhaler?

Please bring medications that may be needed in a plastic or zippy bag. The yoga instructor will have a water tight bag they can go in to be safely taken onto the paddleboards.

  • Do I need to be able to swim a certain distance?

It's always safer doing activities around water if you can swim. However you don't need to be a strong swimmer as the classes are held in fairly shallow water. You should be able to stand up if you fall off the paddleboard. Participants will be asked to paddle sitting down or on their knees to the docking station, due to the shallow depth of the water and nature of the session.
